What is a sump shield?
Simply it’s a waterproof material that covers the lid on an underground storage tank, and prevents water and contaminants from entering the sump and spill bucket. Many people use carpet, standard rubber materials or just plastic bags that break down fast in the petroleum environment. They have been designed to withstand the daily abuse of vehicles, and are completely water, fuel and oil resistant.
The best part is they fit completely over
your lid. Unlike the tacky look of carpets or plastic bags held down with rocks
our shields are very attractive, most of your customers will not even notice
they are there. They come in a standard size of 4 ft x 4 ft. Special size
available on request.
Why?
If water/liquid gets into the sump your alarm may shut down the system until the water/liquid is removed. A spill bucket is designed to “catch” a spill during a drop. All the contaminants in the bucket enter the tank.
